''Clarence, the Cross-Eyed Lion'' is a 1965 film directed by Andrew Marton and starring Marshall Thompson and Betsy Drake. The movie was shot at Soledad Canyon near Los Angeles, California, and in Miami, Florida, and became the basis for the television series ''Daktari''. ==Plot== The movie follows the daily life of an East African veterinary hospital. The hospital is directed by Dr. Marsh Tracy (played by Marshall Thompson). His family and he find a cross-eyed lion which they name Clarence and adopt as a household pet.
